In Dakarai, we think that the work of assistance to basic needs is very important in supporting impoverished children in Spain. Large organizations are focusing on this work and the research underlying appeals to the Government to take the necessary structural measures to curb the rise of exclusion and deprivation of children who have either been radicalized their poverty, or have entered precarious with rising unemployment and declining social benefits.
Along with basic needs, those that come into play are related to inclusion and personal growth and development in areas such as education and creative entertainment and sports entertainment. This is the area where Dakarai can put the effort and dedication. For this we need solidarity.
Child poverty in Spain, is a reality that has been exacerbated by rising unemployment and job insecurity. The child population in poverty in 2007 was 20%, the most vunerables sectors were lone parents, ethnic minorities and immigrants. Currently, with a 25% poverty and 33% relative poverty has spread vulnerability to families until recently had sufficient resources for their welfare.
In all cases, the deficit in basic resources is accompanied by a gradual process of exclusion, a status that girls and boys do not understand, and that affects their social relationships and unequal opportunities for your future.
